In the Ross Sea
Part 4 of 7
Finally we have made it through the ice and reached the inner Ross Sea. The „great barrier“ is stretching endlessly in front of us, the ice wall of the immense Ross Ice Shelf, where helicopter flights provide some first nutrition for our hunger for exploration and release some of the pressure that has built up here and there during almost 2 weeks at sea. Not all of us are born as seafarers.
Landing at Cape Evans and visiting Scott’s last hut there turned out to be almost surprisingly easy, something that make a dream come true for many on board.
